vLLM Enables Adaptive Verification for Models Lacking Confidence Heads
vLLM has introduced an online estimation method to enable confidence scoring and Adaptive Verification for draft models without a confidence head, such as EAGLE, MTP, and DFlash. This efficient logistic regression model determines acceptance probabilities from the log-odds of the drafter's most probable token and is continuously updated during live service. Benchmarks indicate the online estimator matches or surpasses a trained confidence head in AUC and log-loss metrics while maintaining similar overall performance.
