TSMC Senior VP Jeffrey Hou revealed at SEMICON Taiwan 2026 that AI-driven demand has pushed the company's equipment purchase forecasts to nearly double what they were just six months earlier, as it simultaneously builds roughly 13 fabs in Taiwan and 5-6 overseas, 4-5 times its historical pace.
