Tiger Data Releases Open-Source PostgreSQL Vector Search
Tiger Data has introduced pg_vectorsearch, an open-source extension for PostgreSQL. It includes a partition-based index called PRISM, which aims to deliver faster vector searches with less resource usage compared to pgvector's HNSW. Benchmark results with 100 million vectors indicate PRISM offers notably quicker query and index build times and uses significantly less memory than HNSW. The alpha version allows native vector search alongside existing data in PostgreSQL.
