The salad bar theory of UX professionalism
The tech industry often confuses volume and speed with value, celebrating “code by the pound” and 10x productivity even though high output doesn't necessarily translate into meaningful impact. While incremental improvements matter, real significance comes from deciding what's worth building in the first place, and the current arms race around speed and tooling risks prioritizing quantity over thoughtful, customer-centered innovation.
