Phineas Fisher hacked government spyware vendors FinFisher and Hacking Team, leaking internal data that exposed client operations and helped sink Hacking Team's business. They later breached a Catalan police union, Turkey's ruling party, and Cayman National Bank's Isle of Man branch, funding leftist causes and proposing a “hacktivist bug bounty” while staying anonymous and active in private contacts.
