SpaceX Buys Spectrum for Standalone Starlink Mobile Service
SpaceX has agreed to purchase Grain Management's nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum, which will allow its Starlink Mobile division to operate as an independent wireless provider. This acquisition includes up to 14 MHz of paired terrestrial airwaves, enabling direct cellular service to standard smartphones indoors. The deal requires approval from the FCC and the U.S. Department of Justice.
