SpaceX acquires spectrum for Starlink mobile network expansion
SpaceX is set to acquire nationwide low-band spectrum licenses in the 800 MHz range from Grain Management, intending to enhance its Starlink satellite service with a terrestrial mobile network. This acquisition of prime low-band spectrum is expected to resolve a critical technical issue by providing signal coverage that can penetrate buildings. The FCC has also recently approved SpaceX's acquisition of mid-band spectrum from EchoStar and authorized the deployment of 15,000 updated satellites.
