Schneider Electric acquires PTC for $22.6 billion
Schneider Electric is acquiring PTC in its largest purchase ever, valued at $22.6 billion. This move follows Schneider's $3.1 billion acquisition of industrial AI company Cognite in July. CEO Olivier Pascal Blum stated the acquisition aims to merge PTC's product and engineering software, encompassing CAD, PLM, ALM, and SLM, with Schneider's current industrial software and energy infrastructure. This integration is intended to connect the physical and digital realms. The purchase will be funded by approximately $6 billion in new equity and $17 billion in new debt, subject to regulatory consent.
