Ripple patches 10-year-old XRP Ledger vulnerability
A flaw in the XRP Ledger, identified by Veria Labs' AI, could have permitted the creation of unlimited XRP, potentially endangering $94 billion. The vulnerability, present since 2015, involved a combination of integer overflows in the DEX payment engine and its safety mechanisms. Ripple swiftly deployed a fix, bypassing the usual amendment approval period, and rewarded Veria Labs with $250,000 for the discovery.
