Redis Launches Public Protocol Server for AI Agent Documentation
Redis engineers have deployed Redis Docs MCP, a public, unauthenticated Model Context Protocol server accessible at redis.io/mcp. This server offers search, fetch, and ask tools for AI agents to query documentation. It separates direct vector retrieval from gateway-based LLM synthesis to ensure reliability and prevent fake citations. Testing showed that combining lexical and vector search with RedisQuery Engine improved performance metrics, while strict citation controls and loop engineering enhanced agent retrieval accuracy.
