Proof of Play Ceases Operations, Open-Sources Pirate Nation
Proof of Play, the blockchain gaming studio behind the fully onchain Pirate Nation, is ceasing operations after failing to build a sustainable product proving blockchain gaming's thesis at scale. The team is open-sourcing the Pirate Nation Unity app, smart contracts, and an internal agent workflow tool, while releasing Founder Pirates NFTs and all Pirate Nation artwork and IP under CC0. Proof of Play points carry no redemption value, though the independent Pirate Nation Foundation will continue supporting the $PIRATE token, and Shiba Story Go! has been acquired by a third party and will continue operating.
