Prefect just bought Dagster, another big Airflow rival — and it's not a data pipeline story
Prefect has acquired Dagster, maintaining Dagster's names, pricing, and roadmaps. Approximately 40 staff will join Prefect, integrating Dagster's outcome tracking with Prefect's execution and FastMCP to enhance open-source orchestration.
