PostHog Builds Custom Cloud Agents Runtime
PostHog engineers have detailed the design and insights gained from creating their own cloud agents runtime, which executes tasks within secure virtual machines on Modal. The runtime incorporates Temporal for workflow durability, manages message queues for asynchronous platforms like Slack, and implements deterministic network filtering and snapshotting. PostHog has also made its custom environment configurations and security filters publicly available to prevent prompt injection and protect against untrusted build specifications.
