PageIndex, a new open-source RAG system inspired by AlphaGo, ditches traditional vector databases in favor of building hierarchical tree indexes that let LLMs reason through documents like human experts. The system achieved 98.7% accuracy on the FinanceBench benchmark through its reasoning-based approach, significantly outperforming vector-based RAG solutions for analyzing complex professional documents like financial reports and regulatory filings.
