Cohere scientists evaluated multi-agent programming teams using the ProgramBench evaluation to understand how different organizational structures impact their capability and cost. Their findings indicated that assigning only the exploration and planning tasks to agents yielded performance close to assigning all tasks, but at a significantly lower expense. Furthermore, using asynchronous leadership and more robust decision-making frameworks substantially boosted team effectiveness.
