OpenAI to Implement Default ChatGPT Watermarking in EU
To adhere to the EU AI Act, OpenAI will begin automatically watermarking text generated by ChatGPT for users within the European Union. This watermarking feature will also be accessible globally but will remain opt-in outside the EU. The proprietary textGrain method embeds subtle stylistic markers in the text, detectable by specific tools.
