Open-source project shrinks large coding model for home computers
A public code repository offers instructions to reduce the size of the 321B parameter GLM-5.3-Flash coding model, making it suitable for personal computers by pruning and quantizing it to 144 routed experts per layer. The creator tested several GGUF formats, from Q8 to an experimental 2-bit IQ2_XXS, on 30 real-world tasks, finding that versions down to 2.5 bits performed similarly to the original model while supporting more agent interactions. The repository includes tools for expert scoring, pruning, evaluation, and modifications for llama.cpp.
