NIST elliptic curve seeds bounty claimed by Anthropic researchers
Researchers from Anthropic have successfully claimed a bounty by identifying that the seeds for the NIST elliptic curves were generated using the drand48 random number generator in 1997-98. This discovery invalidates a potential backdoor exploitation method proposed by Bernstein and Lange, bolstering confidence in NIST elliptic curve cryptography. The bounty was donated to ISRG, the non-profit behind Let's Encrypt.
