Mistral unveils 'Le Chonk' AI model to rival top competitors
French AI firm Mistral has introduced Mistral Large 4, a new open-weight model with one trillion parameters, nicknamed Le Chonk. The company asserts that this preview model is capable of competing with leading proprietary AI models from the US and China, with specific optimizations for tasks in coding, cyberdefense, manufacturing, finance, and electrical engineering. Mistral indicates the model was developed from the ground up, not through distillation, and will be fully accessible by the end of the month.
