Mistral AI unveils new 1T parameter model to challenge competitors
French AI company Mistral AI has introduced Mistral Large 4, a trillion-parameter multimodal system named Le Chonk, aiming to compete with both proprietary and open-source models. Initially accessible through a public endpoint, open-weight versions will be released after safety evaluations. Mistral stated the model was trained on its own infrastructure using 4,000 NVIDIA GPUs and is optimized for sectors like cybersecurity, finance, and chip design.
