Microsoft's Maia 300 XPU Boasts Significant Bandwidth and Performance Gains
Microsoft revealed details about its forthcoming "Clea" Maia 300 inference XPU at the Open Compute Project Summit 2026. This accelerator, built on 2nm chiplets, includes eight HBM4 memory stacks and an updated ATL 2.0 network, engineered for demanding agentic GenAI tasks. Microsoft stated that deploying 96 of these XPUs in a rack offers seven times the token throughput of the previous Maia 200 generation, with 2.5 times better performance per watt.
