Microsoft is introducing a two-tiered pricing model for Copilot. "Everyday AI" in Office apps will remain a per-user subscription, while advanced agentic features like Cowork, Code, Autopilot, and frontier models will be billed based on usage. This shift means administrators, who previously managed fixed per-head budgets, will now need to account for variable costs from agents operating autonomously.
