Meta Preparing to Deploy Four New Homegrown Chips to Handle AI
Meta has announced the development of four new in-house chips to diversify hardware sources, reduce reliance on external chipmakers, and lower costs. The MTIA 300 is already in production for content ranking and recommendations, while the MTIA 400 has completed lab testing and is moving towards deployment. The MTIA 450 and MTIA 500 chips are slated for mass deployment in 2027.
