Melee Launches Parimutuel Market Maker for Solana Prediction Markets
Melee, a permissionless prediction market platform on Solana, launched the Parimutuel Market Maker (PMM), a pooled betting mechanism built specifically for its markets. Instead of matching orders on a book or relying on continuous AMM liquidity, PMM collects all wagers into a shared pool and splits payouts pro-rata among winners once an outcome resolves, removing the need for a market-making counterparty. That design targets long-tail, permissionlessly-created markets where order-book depth or LP incentives would be hard to sustain. Melee frames PMM as achievable only on Solana, tying the mechanism to the chain's throughput and low-cost settlement.
