Mandiant M-Trends: Attackers Now Move From Initial Access to Control in 22 Seconds
Mandiant reports the time from initial access to attacker “hands-on keyboard” has dropped to just 22 seconds, down from hours previously. This indicates there is effectively no response window after compromise—defense has to happen before or during access, not after detection.
