Grok's CLI caught uploading all your local files to the cloud
Researchers found that Grok Build CLI was uploading entire Git repositories, including full commit histories and sensitive files, to xAI-managed cloud storage, even when users disabled model-improvement settings. xAI subsequently stopped the uploads through a server-side switch, raising larger questions about whether enterprises can trust the stated data controls of AI coding agents
