Google unveils workplace AI assistant to compete with rivals
Google, part of Alphabet, has introduced its new Gemini agent for business use, aiming to stay competitive in the artificial intelligence landscape. Presented at Gemini at Work 2026, this universal agent integrates with Google services such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Calendar to manage knowledge tasks, generate code, and organize work. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian explained that the agent can link to business systems and serve as a personal assistant or a team contributor.
