Google Cloud Unveils Agent Gateway for Protocol-Native Governance
During Google Cloud Next ’26, Google launched the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, which includes the Agent Gateway, a new protocol-native tool for managing autonomous operations centrally. The gateway, built upon Envoy and Kubernetes, inherently understands the Model Context Protocol and Agent-to-Agent protocol, enabling detailed role-based access control and security enforcement at the protocol level. Furthermore, the platform integrates with Model Armor and Security Command Center to facilitate the discovery and protection of agentic workloads across multiple cloud environments.
