GitHub Overhauls Git System for AI Agent Commit Surge
GitHub is re-engineering its Git infrastructure to manage the increased volume of commits generated by AI coding agents. The new design separates storage from processing, using Azure Blob Storage for primary data and employing efficient read workers that cache requests. This approach aims to prevent read operations from impacting write performance, with internal tests showing up to 35 times greater write throughput.
