First confidential DeFi yield vault on Ethereum Launched
Three teams collaborated to launch the Steakhouse Confidential USDC Prime vault on Ethereum. This vault uses Zama's fully homomorphic encryption to convert standard USDC into shielded cUSDC, routing it into Morpho's lending infrastructure while keeping balances, transfer amounts, and strategy details private. This product aims to attract institutions concerned about DeFi's inherent transparency, which can expose positions to competitors. However, its launch comes amidst a complex situation where a federal judge ordered Circle to blacklist Zama's cUSDC contract due to $12.6 million tied to litigation flowing into it. The vault addresses compliance through Chainalysis screening and viewing-key disclosure features.
