Faster RL training with bitwise consistency
Engineers and scientists are developing methods for bitwise-consistent train-inference numerics in high-performance reinforcement learning for large language models, aiming to resolve training instability caused by inference-side optimizations. By modifying vLLM inference kernels to ensure identical logprobs during rollout and training, the technique preserves training rewards while maintaining high rollout throughput on models like DeepSeek-V4-Flash and Nemotron. The approach is packaged as an agent skill to simplify its application to new models.
