EMVCo is exploring standards that would let payment participants see what a consumer authorized an AI agent to purchase, identify the agent, and flag its involvement in a transaction. The framework could give merchants, networks, and issuers important new data for fraud checks, disputes, and accountability as agents begin making card payments.
