DuckDB CLI adds agent mode for AI optimization
DuckDB version 2.0 now includes an agent mode within its command-line interface. This mode automatically adjusts output for AI coding assistants when specific environment variables are present and the output is not directed to a terminal. It switches from boxed rendering to compact Markdown tables, limits the display of extensive results, formats errors as JSON, and provides concise query plans to minimize token usage. Tests indicate a 59% reduction in token output for models while maintaining accurate query responses.
