Does Schema Markup Impact SERP Rank?
Schema markup alone does not improve Google rankings, so treat it as a support tool instead of a ranking tactic. A 10-week study across 29 local business websites found no direct ranking or search visibility gains from adding LocalBusiness schema in Google. Schema still adds value because it enables rich results for content like jobs and products and helps search engines and AI systems understand page content more clearly. Use schema where it unlocks search features or improves content structure, but focus SEO effort on tactics that produce measurable ranking and visibility gains.
