Discover-Tech's Ad Platform Linked to Spyware Attacks on Al Jazeera
Citizen Lab researchers identified Discover-Tech, an Israeli firm, as operating Controlium, an ad-targeting system that facilitated zero-click mercenary spyware attacks. These attacks targeted devices at the Al Jazeera news network. The malicious ads, distributed through common advertising channels, deployed spyware created by Candiru. Following the report, major ad platforms and industry bodies took action to block Discover-Tech's access.
