Design Systems are Today's Cure and Tomorrow's Cause of Shitty Software
Design systems currently help manage software complexity, but create dependency by abstracting fundamental skills that designers and engineers are losing. As software continues to grow more complex, relying on design systems as the primary solution adds additional abstraction layers, paradoxically increasing overall system complexity. This dependency threatens software quality as fewer people retain the skills to build high-quality interfaces from scratch.
