China's Kinetica 1 Y18 rocket launched nine satellites on September 20, headlined by Supercomputing-1 (S-AIDC-1), which pairs a high-resolution optical payload with an onboard AI computer to process Earth-observation imagery directly in orbit rather than beaming raw data back to ground stations first, cutting cross-regional processing time from hours to minutes.
