China Approves Alibaba AI for Apple's iPhone Duo
China has granted approval for Alibaba's AI models, including Tongyi Qianwen and Tongyi Wanxiang, to operate on Apple's iPhone Duo and other devices supporting Apple Intelligence. This regulatory clearance enables Apple to provide localized AI chatbot and image generation features to Chinese users, following Apple COO Sabih Khan's recent visit and preceding upcoming iPhone pre-orders. Due to the unavailability of US AI models in China, Apple reportedly developed a dedicated AI model with Alibaba's assistance.
