Better Code, Fewer Tokens: The Benefits of Code Connect in MCP
Figma's Code Connect feature links Figma components to real codebase components, giving coding agents production-accurate context instead of generic React output. Testing across 27 design-to-code tasks showed Code Connect reduced median token usage by 29.5% and task duration by 19.6%, while raising code quality by a full point on a 1–4 scale. Improvements scaled with Code Connect coverage: higher coverage meant fewer exploratory searches and closer matches to real design-system components, as illustrated by Coinbase's experience avoiding fabricated components.
