Benchmarking Single Node vs Distributed
A 1TB TPC-H benchmark showed that distributed Polars on 32 nodes slightly outperformed a single m8i.32xlarge with matched aggregate specs, but only for I/O-bound queries where the cluster's network bandwidth was significantly higher. Join-heavy queries were faster on a single node due to reduced shuffle overhead.
