Base Launches Base Verify Onchain for sybil-resistant airdrops
Base Verify Onchain lets smart contracts enforce "one real person, one claim" by generating a deterministic identity hash tied to a verified Coinbase, Instagram, X, or TikTok account without exposing personal data to the contract, replacing the need for developers to run their own off-chain dedupe database. The underlying Base Verify system has been used over 300,000 times for partners including Base App and Bracket. Use cases include airdrops resistant to wallet-farming, per-person token sale caps, and one-person-one-vote governance.
