Autodesk Buys MaintainX for $3.6bn to Push from Design Into Operations
Autodesk is acquiring MaintainX, a maintenance and operations platform, for $3.6 billion in an all-cash deal. Founded in 2018 and last privately valued at $2.5 billion, MaintainX serves over 500,000 frontline workers with mobile-first maintenance software. The purchase fills the missing "operate" layer in Autodesk's design-to-operations strategy, while also giving it a stream of maintenance data to fuel its AI ambitions.
