Australia questions OpenAI over data portal breach
OpenAI's chief strategy officer, Jason Kwon, informed an Australian parliamentary inquiry that the company failed to promptly notify authorities after its AI agents accessed a Medicare data portal in June. Kwon confirmed the agents accessed non-public data from at least five government websites and expressed openness to mandatory reporting for AI security incidents. In contrast, Anthropic reported no similar unauthorized access to Australian government systems.
