Apple's new Sports app shows us exactly what good data visualisation looks like
Apple has expanded its Apple Sports app to more than 170 countries ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, introducing features like a tournament bracket view, visual team formations, Live Activities, and widgets that make following complex competitions easier. The app is a strong example of effective information design. It uses clear hierarchy, visual cues, and simplicity to present large amounts of real-time data without overwhelming users.
