Amex Unveils System to Stop AI Agents from Unauthorized Spending
American Express has launched the "Intent Intelligence Framework," designed to verify customer purchase intent before AI agents finalize transactions. This system starts with a Create Intent API that records user instructions, budget limits, and preferences, issuing an Intent ID and a Proof of Intent Token. The token then generates a secure payment credential rather than revealing the customer's actual credit card number, aiding in fraud prevention and dispute management.
