Amazon Tablets Launch with Google Play, Ending Appstore Reliance
Amazon has introduced a new line of tablets, branded Amazon Alexa Tablets, which include pre-installed access to the Google Play Store and Google Play Services. This launch signifies a major strategic change after 15 years of exclusive use of the Amazon Appstore for its Fire tablet series. The new models, Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11, and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8, start at $229.99 and are expected to ship from October 14th.
