Alibaba AI Approved for Apple Intelligence in China
Alibaba's Qwen large language models and Tongyi Wanxiang media tools have received approval from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for integration into Apple Intelligence. This governmental endorsement permits Apple Intelligence to be deployed within mainland China, aligning with the imminent debut of the iPhone Duo and 18 Pro. Apple had previously secured approval for its AI platform in July, but stringent local data protection regulations had postponed its market introduction.
