AI passes engineering certification exam, finds security flaw
Researchers at Spectral Labs announced that their AI system successfully completed the Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional exam without assistance, passing all three sections in one attempt. The company evaluated leading AI models against its own SGS-Mk2 model on 45 simulated CAD problems, finding that SGS-Mk2 significantly cut down on API calls and expenses for geometry-related tasks. The team also identified and reported an unsecured SQLite database in the TesterPro software that contained exam answers to Dassault Systèmes.
