Future-ready design systems are evolving from simple UI libraries into structured systems that AI agents can understand and safely operate within. Instead of focusing on generating components faster, teams should focus on defining intent, rules, accessibility, constraints, and governance so agents can help with repetitive tasks like documentation, QA, migrations, and consistency checks while humans retain control over judgment, ethics, and product decisions.
