2026 state of AI agents
The numbers in Databricks' annual State of AI Agents report are striking. Drawing on telemetry from over 20,000 organizations (including 60%+ of the Fortune 500), the report shows multi-agent systems grew 327% in under four months, and more than 80% of databases are now built by AI agents. Companies with AI governance frameworks pushed 12x more projects to production. Of the top 15 enterprise use cases, 40% center on customer experience and engagement.
